# A few things to know before you go.

Quick answers about exploring Market Lane, suggesting a stand, and planning a visit.

## What is Market Lane?

Market Lane is a map and directory for discovering roadside stands, farm stores, and seasonal stops in Ontario cottage country. It helps visitors explore listings, save stops, and plan a Country Drive. Market Lane is a directory; purchases happen directly with the stand.

## Where can I find roadside stands on Market Lane?

Open the map or browse the stand directory. Search by town, stand name, or product, then use category and season filters to narrow your options. Only published listings appear. Coverage depends on the stands people submit and the owner approves, so an empty area does not mean there are no stands nearby.

## What kinds of places can be listed?

Market Lane has categories for produce, corn, berries, eggs, honey, flowers, baked goods, pumpkins, Christmas trees, firewood, farm stores, and food trucks. A stand can have more than one category.

## Is Market Lane free to browse? Do I need an account?

You can browse the map, read listings, save stops, and plan a Country Drive without creating an account. The login page is for the assigned site administrator.

## How do I add a roadside stand?

Choose Add a stand on the map, place the pin at the stand location, and enter its name, town, categories, and the details you know. Submit the form for owner review. Please use the public stand location and do not share private home information without permission.

## Why is my submitted stand not on the map yet?

New submissions are private while awaiting review. The site owner can edit, approve, or deny them. A stand becomes public only after approval. There is no guaranteed review time.

## Does approval mean a stand is open or has stock today?

No. Approval is an editorial review of a listing, not a live inspection or a guarantee of hours, stock, prices, accessibility, or product quality. Read the listing and check directly with the stand when possible before making a special trip.

## How does the Open now filter work?

Open now uses the weekly hours and seasonal dates recorded in a listing. It is a schedule-based estimate, not a live status feed. Weather, harvest timing, holidays, and sell-outs may affect a visit.

## How do Country Drives and saved stands work?

Save stands you want to revisit or add stops to a Country Drive. The directions link opens the route in Google Maps. Saved stands and drive plans stay in that browser; they do not sync between devices and may disappear if you clear browser storage.

## Are community confirmations and reports shared with the owner?

The current Still open, Sold out, and report controls record feedback in your browser only. They are not a shared reporting service. To request a public correction or removal, contact the Market Lane owner using the email on the contact page.

## Can I order or pay through Market Lane?

Market Lane does not take orders or process payments. Check each listing for payment information and follow the stand’s instructions. Do not assume that a stand accepts cards or can provide change.

## How do I sign up for email updates?

Choose Get email updates on the map and submit your email with the consent checkbox selected. Signup currently collects addresses for future Market Lane updates; no regular email schedule is promised. Future updates will include an unsubscribe link.

## Does Market Lane use my location?

Find my location asks your browser for permission. If allowed, the map centres near you and sorts stands by distance. You can use the map without granting location permission. Read the privacy page for information about browser storage and service providers.
